Rodgers Organ “TheCentury 340”

The Century 340 is probably the most complete and well specified theatre organ of its period. Rodgers Organ only made around eighty of these, and basically were custom made for their customers. This wonderful organ is a masterpiece in analogue technology and has been fully workshop serviced and restored to its former glory at Metropolitan Organ Service here in Melbourne, by their organ expert technician Barry Wilkinson.

This one is in the rarer antique Ivory/Gold cabinet finish and comes with external speaker cabinets for full surround sound, including areal Glockenspiel which can be placed anywhere in the room. The organ also features a real set of Chimes contained in the console, truly beautiful! The other features are, Second Touch on the accompaniment keyboard, (being able to bring in extra stops with the weight applied to the keyboard),Wooden Keyboards, Settable Moving Tabs(tabs actually move when preset pistons are pushed, to show exactly what you have selected),Divided Expression & Crescendo Pedals, Adjustable Voicingon reed stops and Volume adjustable for independent balance levels for various divisions,

All Electronic Tremulants with depth and speed adjustable for incredible realism!, The Piano stop has a sustain control for the same flexibility and realism as a real piano, 3 Full 61 Note Manuals and a proper 32 Note Concave & Radiating pedalboard, individual hand made cabinet with incredible detail to quality and finish, right down to the authentic “Dog Leg Bench”and Illumination on music rest, console and pedalboard. This is one of only three that we are aware that were imported to Australia in the mid 70's, and because it is analogue technology it should continue giving pleasure to both player and audience for many years to come.
