Chopin’s Etude in E Major, Op. 10 No. 3 begins like a dreamy nocturne, featuring one of Chopin’s most beautiful and memorable melodies. Despite its lyrical character, the piece is a demanding legato study in which the right hand must perform both the melody and accompaniment within the middle voice. The contrasting “con bravura” middle section introduces a powerful and technically demanding passage, requiring a high level of pianistic control. Henle rates this work Level 7 – Difficult.
