Description

Liszt composed these 12 Études at the age of 14 in 1825. After several revisions, they became the foundation for his famous Transcendental Études.

This EMB edition presents the works under their modern Op. 6 numbering; the contents correspond to the earlier edition traditionally identified as Op. 1 and catalogue number Z. 766. The edition includes revised fingering, performance notes and a detailed preface by pianist Kornél Zempléni.

The collection provides an excellent introduction to the technical and musical elements required for studying Liszt’s later Transcendental Études.
